Looking for an experienced developer with deep experience in databases and web apps.

In order to be successful in this role, this person must be able to extract data from third-party sources, construct a database architecture from scratch, and build a web app on top of it. Advanced informatics skills are needed.

What we are doing:

Leveraging the SEC's EDGAR database for all public lists pertaining to Investment Advisors and Investment Funds / Companies. Here is an of the type of data: https://adviserinfo.sec.gov/compilation

The goal is to:

1. Exact these public datasets on a daily basis
2. Build a database and perform analysis on the datasets to gain insights
3. Build an easy to search web-app listing profile pages of advisors and investment firms

• The profiles would list information like name, website, any SEC violations, etc.

I need:

• Someone who is deeply familiar with building databases and web apps
• Can autonomously research how to efficiently extract 3rd party data sources and build ETL processes
• Has a solid understanding of the financial services industry
• Knows how to process XML files
• Knows how to build public-facing databases for everyday users
• Can build MVP projects
• Has good design sense and user empathy
