How did you get the input to do that, like take only one letter at a time before you could check it?

this is great for practicing, thank you :)

This is low-effort, but I do like the idea a lot. The only thing I would change is change the syntax of the typing tests to not only be Python, but JS, TS, Java, C family, etc. I love the idea though!

I definitely thought 'type' meant something different! But nice CLI app :)

Typing fast enough you can actually cause it to freeze.

Interesting idea though

Hey! Maybe it would be an improvement to highlight the current letter/char in red or green, as the bar sometimes messed me up :/. Awesome job! Love the text styling, good job!

great program. this might be hard to code but maybe try to allow for arrow key presses. For example, when I'm writing print("Hello world"), I usually do this:

  • print
  • print()
  • Press the left arrow
  • print("")
  • Press the left arrow
  • print("hello world")

So yeah, it might be hard but allowing for arrow key presses may be useful.

Took a moment to understand the feedback of the program. Then it is really great to see the stats roll out as we type. Very intuitive idea

We all know that typing tests are a good idea but how do you make a good one? One way is to use Python Type. It's a beautiful-looking graphic that helps programmers understand their software better. Programmers don't read code all the time, so it's important to give them visual cues. This is why developers love Python Type- it makes the job more interesting and gives them peace of mind.
