I just wanna report a bug: if you move really fast and place blocks everywhere you can there is a chance for a one side of a block to appear glitched.

Hmmm...

I have been playing with this concept in my mind for a while. I will probably use it in a game project of my own but its too cool not to share:

What if instead of blocks, each block was a point. It is either air or a type of block. You wrap a procedurally generated mesh around each point that isn't air depending on the type of block. When you break a block, simply replace it with air and update the chunk mesh (and the chunk next to it if you are on a border). Sort of the same process but backwards if you place a block. Although this would mean that the meshes would have to depend on a seed like the terrain so that the chunk doesnt randomise when you update it.

For performance you could have the chunk you are standing on and the 4 chunks around it be full LOD and have the LOD diminish with distance.

The trees could be a procedurally generated mesh of their own that get the point you chopped the tree at and everything above it will become a rigidbody and fall over. Water and lava could be fluid simulations for realism, and to replenish things like running rivers there could be a rain system that gets the lowest points of the terrain exposed to the sky and fill them up, all with a realistic rain effect (I love me a good rain effect in games).

To top it all off, procedural walking animations for npcs. drops mic

@Skyskript i have little suggestion, how about trying to make the shrubs hitboxes kind of like normal mc instead of full sized blocks
