🐢TurtleDraw!🐢 - Relaxing Color Fun!
Hey! I've been working on this project as an experimentation of turtle, but I figured it was so fun I should post it! Here it is!
Ok, so this is an art game where you can create cool swirly art by telling a turtle what to do! There are several parameters used to make your art.
- length increase
- number of colors
Let me go over what each does so you can make the perfect backdrop for your computer! Or you could just skip to the game and figure it out for yourself!

Angle is the amount of degrees that your turtle will turn to the right after every line. So, if you want to make a more square-y swirl, you would use a degree measure of about ninety degrees. However, if you want a shape that spirals, don't use the exact degree measure. Go a degree or two under or over the exact degree measure. Examples:
This is a shape drawn with exactly ninety degrees. It's cool, I guess, but look at one drawn with ninety-one degrees!
Much better, isn't it? Also, one more thing on angle. Since the turtle is turning on the outside, make sure you use the exterior angle instead of the
interior angle. If you don't know what I mean by this, allow me to explain. If you know that a triangle has three angle measures of sixty degrees, subtract that from 180 to get the exterior angle! Always use this equation to get the right angle measure: 180-angle=exterior angle
So, say I want a triangle shape. I'll input sixty-one degrees, with the extra degree to cause the spiral effect.
This shape is awesome! But, it's not what I'm looking for. Oh! Right! I'll use the exterior equation to figure out the right angle. 180-60=120-plus an extra degree for the spiral effect!
There we go! That's exactly what I want! And that concludes our section on angles.
Length increase is the value of the difference in length from the last line. The smaller the increase, the longer the art will take, but the more colored in it will look! This is a shape drawn with an increase of 0.04:
Brilliant! But it took a while to draw. This is one drawn with an increase of one.
This was drawn very quickly, but it is still very spread out! I've found that my happy medium is 0.1, but feel free to experiment!
Number of colors & colors
This is pretty self-explanatory, let me tell you one thing. You can use each color more than once if you want. However, if you don't use the same number of colors as the number of sides of the shape you are using, the colors will mix in like this:
Cool, isn't it? Here, I told the program to draw with six colors, to correspond with the six sides of the hexagon, but only used two. I alternated between yellow and blue three times.
And here is the same thing without alternation. It makes a sort of yin-yang effect!
And that's it for colors!
Ok, so for this final effect, you will get to be surprised by the final product! You will still choose the angle, length increase, and colors, but the order in which the colors are used will be randomized! This is a more fun style if you enjoy crazier, more tie-dye style art.
