189 lines of code just to say "Hello!"
KeeganPowers (112)

The title says it all!
Thank you for all the support and comments! I really appreciate this.

CreateAWebsite (23)

This man is such a big brain he can say hello without saying hello

EpicRaisin (262)

So basically you just did the BrainF version of saying Hello World in Python
Well done!
You have dedication

firefish (948)

@JosephSanthosh Dedication? Have a look at this ggithub repo. Someone made a transpiler to C++, a transpiler could've taken an order of 5 minutes to make.

firefish (948)

@WilliamRoss6 Well, That's probably what this guy used

WilliamRoss6 (11)

@firefish Something like it yeah, he definitely didn't use mine though.

firefish (948)

@WilliamRoss6 He probably made his own, I mean it's not that hard, it's be harder to painstakingly copy and paste those lines over and over

firefish (948)

@JosephSanthosh (I didn't flipping make that transpiler, just some random chap I follow did): my github username is @firefish111

AustinZhang1 (65)

It's purely useless, wastes time, and is confusing to look at.

Bookie0 (6281)

*slow clapping 👏👏👏👏

Bitkoshy (17)

@Bookie0 Woah chill! Why slow clapping???? Huh?!! It's just awesome he could do that!

CodeLongAndPros (1624)

@Bitkoshy Uh nah. It's an obscure way to do it. I could do the same— I just prefer to do it the easier way.

Bookie0 (6281)

@Bitkoshy lol with the slow clapping I don't mean that I don't like it

Bitkoshy (17)

@Bookie0 Aaah I see. Yea it's kinda funny doing slow clapping.

NaimSever (2)

It is useless but it cool
and it looks like it took 5 hours to make lol

Bitky - Its just a sarcastic way to show that you aren't really clapping(as in appreciating), but still clapping lol

Bitky - i am getting desires to r/woosh you lol

itsevanb (4)

Not hello world? how dare you

SeamusDonahue (457)

talk about a rube goldburg machine....

Muffinlavania (1526)

If you really wanted to make something as long as possible, you could change ascii_chars to this:

a5=' '
#And so on
ascii_chars = [a1,a2,a3,a4,a5,a6,a7,a8,a9,a10 #And so on....]
mesquite2234 (278)

stupidity, I like it!

elipie (353)

when hello world doesn't get taught in school to make the assignments harder

Spitfier720 (24)

Be careful what program you call ugly in middle school.

tehgingergod (31)

why am I so very amused by this

NoahJospeh (29)

Me: ok, this took me 10 weeks, and 189 lines of code
Teacher: well what does it do?
Me: presses "Run"
Console: Hello!
Teacher: that's it?
Rest of class: smh
Nerds: I aprove!
Dumb jocks: why? just why?
Girls: that's exactly how long it takes for a guy to go out with me!

adl212 (172)

Does this mean you can use more lines of code if you use a longer string to print out?

adl212 (172)

@RahulChoubey1 Well, why didn't they use hello world for the project to make more lines lol

RahulChoubey1 (173)

@adl212 Because "Hello!" with 189 lines probably sounds more shocking than "Hello World!" with so-and-so lines

TsunamiOrSumth (545)

why isnt this the most upvoted post

TurtleAndrew (211)

Should i make a project to say the word "Hello!" in 1000 lines? Also grate project.

@TurtleAndrew if you want your sanity to disappear, then ok

MrJift (0)

This is the best project I have seen!

KobeFF (1269)

Such dedication XD

NathanRandall (0)

This is so excessive but I love it.

iocoder (162)

uterly hard, useless, and pointless to anything besides its own cause.

EDIT: why not try to make a typing effect next thats, like, 200 lines of code and make it say "Hello" or something? (if this happens giv me some credit for the idea)

NoahJospeh (29)

@firefish when you download an off-brand version of FireFox; FireFish

elipie (353)

@NoahJospeh when you accidently write main.pie instead of

firefish (948)

@NoahJospeh lol, ever since they Chrome-ified Firefox I've disliked it more and more

NoahJospeh (29)

@firefish using microsoft edge to download microsoft edge...

parsec00 (1)

obfuscation taken to the next level, nice job.

SaranshChandawa (0)

Because you have used binary

AphixDev (213)

You must've had a lot of grit LOL
