How to Get a Repl.It Post to 1000 likes :P
CyanCoding (2191)

Hey y'all! This isn't really a tutorial so I understand if this gets taken down. I just wanted to thank all y'all who upvoted my Brute Force Password Cracker program after I released it three years ago to the point now where we are the first post on repl.it to receive over 1,000 upvotes!

It's been incredible how supportive the Repl.it community has been and I love seeing emails each week about someone commenting on my program where I could improve or how long it's taken to crack their password.

As one of the original Repl.it users, it's been amazing to see the full timeline of this amazing website and be a part of it. As for me, currently, I'm a junior in high school and freshman in college, so that's mostly why I'm inactive on the site. However, I use it once or twice a week for small classes or functions I need to test and I love the portability and ease that Repl.it has always provided!

As for the actual tutorial of getting a Repl.it post to 900 likes, I didn't even create a mindblowing piece of tech or some extraordinary bug-free code. It was all y'all being supportive and helping me out with the start of my coding career. Keep helping each other out and building this amazing community!

Also if you want to chat about programming or really anything, send me a text on insta! @its_actually_cam

Thanks so much everyone!

@tsunami21 for a few seconds i guess he is alive

CyanCoding (2191)

@ThisUserTaken maybe a few days :). How can I forget y'all when I still have my super comfy Repl.it t-shirt hanging in my closet from the first coding competition??

FlaminHotValdez (715)

@tsunami21 He updated his bio too now it doesn't have the "I am inactive on Repl.it" part maybe he's coming back for good?????

TsunamiOrSumth (545)

@aboutthelol This post is 17 days old, so it is likely that he is inactive agian. Also, you didnt even ping him correctly, so he did not get any notifications.

TsunamiOrSumth (545)

@Coder100 - No, I think cyan is a color, unless you're talking about Cyan, in which case he is a repl member(who apparently has some history with the repl big peeps, 'coz I'm seein' a lotta 'cyan is back?' messages here lol).

CyanCoding (2191)

@KelpHead the color cyan is back 🟦

@CyanCoding - Yay, I love the color cyan (though that is more of a blue, which makes it even better!!!) lmao

Welcome to the Brute Force Password Cracker!

Attempting to crack password via CyanCoding's BFPC...

This could be a while. Feel free to leave this page open while you use the computer.

655 million passwords guessed so far...

CyanCoding's BFPC cracked the password hello in 656001330 tries and 1094 seconds!

That's approximately 600140 guessed passwords per second!

:O Your Back!!!

Oof this is the first "How to Get a Repl.It Post to 920 likes :P" tutorial that has only 22 likes 😆

Noice is Noice @RahulChoubey1

Nope I don’t have a droid in my name [email protected]

RahulChoubey1 (184)

I love the "is 9 + 10 = 21?" secret

CyanCoding (2191)

@RahulChoubey1 i used to be so sarcastic with my programming🤣

Do you want to continue? "might as well i've been waitin' for hours"

SudhanshuMishra (250)

@RahulChoubey1 Sir , would u plz come back online in out team 😭

zplusfour (916)

cyancoding is back

DynamicSquid (5023)

Ooh, an original repl.it user! How was it back then?

CyanCoding (2191)

@DynamicSquid it was pretty simple! Over the years the basis behind Repl.it hasn't really changed. Back when I joined in late 2016 it was just a console and that was pretty much the entire website!

DynamicSquid (5023)

@CyanCoding Wait, how can you be in high school and college at the same time?

CyanCoding (2191)

@DynamicSquid I'm a dual-enrolled student, which means I can take four college courses and four high school courses per semester. This way I can get my A.A. by the time I graduate high school! This is great because it allows me to get my double major in Business Administration and Management and Computer Engineering in just four years after high school!

Thanks Repl.it for helping me figure out what one of my majors is!

DynamicSquid (5023)

@CyanCoding Oh that's so cool! Good luck on your journey!

realTronsi (923)

Hmm smells like advertising :thonk:

Cooli (21)

I made a password that was very hard, and it took "1 billion, 805 million passwords guessed so far..." before the locked my computer to eat snacks, lol!

GreyDraws (0)

For some reasons the code won’t continue after I type no.

Gsquadgamers (3)

460 million and still running

I put in password as the password and im at 475 million so far lol

I wonder if I had the hacker plan if it would run faster..?

beginner10coder (12)

Please fix error, when it gets over 110 million try’s it does this error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File “main.py”, line 312, in <module>
    tries, timeAmount = tryPassword(password, stringType)
TypeError: cannot unpack non-iterable NoneType object
beginner10coder (12)

It just guessed a simple password 1234 in 45 million try’s

GIACOMO2020 (0)

I'm at 1 billion and a half and still it didn't find it. Should I stop? Lol.

MicroSoftHelp (57)

@CyanCoding for your C++ version of this, could you share the .txt file? I am working on a actual brute force password cracker, and need a wordlist for it.

CyanCoding (2191)

@OperationDemon Yeah! I use the classic rockyou.txt file. I've used larger ones (like a few gigabytes), but those take super long. You can download it here.

RedPandaCode (25)

Tutorial section is for posting code help. It is really annoying when people do this and this is not what the tutorial section is for.

PYer (4015)

OMG cyancoding! You left repl.it for so long (which helped make you more legendary and mysterious)! So cool to see your back (for the time being).

CyanCoding (2191)

@PYer Thanks homie! Always loved seeing you around and your fantastic programs back before I left.
