Why is banning useful?
WilliamXing (43)

Repl bans many people. What's the point, if they can just create a new account?

People get banned for multiple things, and they can be banned in multiple ways:

  • banned from talk
  • deleted account
  • deleted account AND they can no longer use that IP to make a new account

banning is just a punishment, it's never meant to keep them away from replit, only to cause them 'annoyance'

@Coder100 there are vpns, proxies, ip manipulative stuff,........

Coder100 (16904)

do you think replit has a problem with banning them again @AmhedeWeeeeeuss

WilliamXing (43)

I think instead of blocking the account, maybe block the email? @Coder100

Coder100 (16904)

but they can make a new email @WilliamXing

WilliamXing (43)

and, does repl have a problem with banning them again? @Coder100

AmhedeWeeeeeuss (2)

No i dont, but im just saying @Coder100

Coder100 (16904)

once the replit actually contacted police because someone was posting NSFW @AmhedeWeeeeeuss

Coder100 (16904)

but such people who want to cause harm usually target larger sites, who in the world would want to waste their time and effort on something nobody uses (at least a small portion, replit is an ide not a social media) @AmhedeWeeeeeuss

AmhedeWeeeeeuss (2)

You are calling repl.it small. It is larger than some other sites like this. Its in the top.... 500. @Coder100. Also that was some big stuff there, that was a good reason to ban.

Coder100 (16904)

no no it's a small social media
how many actual content/posts are made @AmhedeWeeeeeuss

They lose their work / progress

Would you rather they remain? It's a punishment; there isn't really a way of stopping "this human" from using Replit.
