What is the best port
Whippingdot (658)

What do you think the best port is? What are the differences between different ports, are they just different numbers after localhost: and do they mean nothing, or do they actually have a meaning and the speed of your website depends on the port?

Which port is the most ideal port to use, and what are the differences between ports. Those are the two questions of this post. Thanks for answering!

Diffrent ports of diffrent purposes, port 80 and 443 are generally for sites (Replit uses 8080). Port 22 for SSH, port 21 for file transfer. The speed of your website does not depend on your port, unless there are restrictions on other ports. It's best to use the correct port to prevent being blocked by firewalls.

In the live server extension in vs code the port is automatically 5050. Should I leave it like that, or should I change it to 8080 / 8000 @Saml2020
