Custom Domains & Forwarding

So I know I can add a CNAME record under my DNS settings from my domain provider but I don't know if this alternative was allowed or not which is why I'm asking. Admins, please don't delete or suspend my account if this isn't allowed, I am happy to remove it if needed. All I did was add a domain forwarding in my DNS settings and set the type to "mask", entered the title, description, and keywords and in about 2 minutes I could type in my domain and it would go to the replit page I made. Is that allowed?

hey!

yes, you are allowed to use custom domains

we have some documentation that shows detailed stops for adding one, which implies its allowed

glad you were able to get it up and running! 😜

What is your DNS provider? Are you using Freenom?
Also, can you send some screenshots of your DNS layout/setup?

@DylanEliot What do you mean?

@Vandesm14 freenom is garbage

@DylanEliot Yes but most people like free. That's why most users pair Freenom with Cloudflare to avoid slowness and garbage. Although, paying for a domain is always the best option!

@Vandesm14 freenom makes you pay for a domain name, dude.

@Vandesm14 I like free, too!

Are you gonna give me free money?

@DylanEliot Freenom allows you to get free domains. Granted, they're free so they're pretty crap and they swipe them from you if the domain is too popular. Although, it's good for beginners who don't have money but want a "good" place to put their website.

We all know that paid domains are better, beginners just don't have money to spend on domains and hosting, so they resort to free.

@Vandesm14 that's blowing smoke up my ass. Freenom does not provide free domain names.

@DylanEliot Oh they don't? That's strange, wonder what this is then
