Weekly Result - June 2020

Good morning/evening replers! Hope you're all doing good. 4 weeks ago, we started the second batch of weekly challenges - A series of beginner friendly coding challenges for everyone to solve! Given below are links to each of the past 4 weekly challenges.

Weekly challenge 5 : Equality check

Weekly challenge 6 : Prime digits

Weekly challenge 7 : Even subsets

Weekly challenge 8 : Algebraic equations

We received a total of 51 submissions with a total of 30 participants. And below are the results!

NOTE : The max score is 40.

Leaderboard

RANK 1 : @Lord_Poseidon

@Lord_Poseidon kept trying new stuff, they went out of their way to implement a very rarely used method in the last challenge and thus leaped onto the first spot with a total of 32 points!

RANK 2 : @DynamicSquid

@DynamicSquid was almost on par with @Lord_Poseidon and only came second by a score of 1 point, with a total score of 31 points!

RANK 3 : @AmazingMech2418

@AmazingMech2418 came out on top at the end of the 5th and 7th challenge but unfortunately failed to meet the requirements in the 8th challenge, thus, making them hold the third position with a score of 26 points.

As for their prize, @Lord_Poseidon, they will be getting the 1 month of free hacker plan. And for everyone else, you can check out your own scores at this website.

Finally, I would like to announce the next batch of weekly challenges will be specially for web designers/developers as there are a lot of users among the community who would like to challenge themselves in that field as well.

The next challenge will be announced within the next 48 hours!

NOTE : The next series of weekly challenge will be for web designers specifically and will be judged on an entirely different criteria. I'm looking forward to it, hope you are too!

Any constructive feedback on how to make these more fun is appreciated via the comments section!

Thank you for being here and have a good day/night!

TBH Newton's approximation is not rare no matter how you look at it. It powers all of our devices that calculate. How do you think that calculators find square roots?

Scientific calculators use this almost exclusively for their calculations.

@Lord_Poseidon it is rare when it comes to students' knowledge, that is, the people who are participating in these weekly challenges. Most would just use the plain old quadratic formula and be done with it.

Ah! I was so close! Though, third is good too... (if only I wouldn't have insisted on using a lexer and parser for the last challenge... LOL! I'm not sure what it didn't do that it was supposed to though...) Though, for the next ones on web design/development, will it be more based on functionality or design? (please say functionality! LOL!)
