How do I connect a GitLab group and choose its projects?

How do I connect my team’s GitLab repositories to a Replit workspace?

Use the GitLab workspace connection to share selected projects from a GitLab group with your Replit workspace. Unlike the GitHub setup, this flow connects a group and selected projects rather than installing a GitHub-style App.

Your personal GitLab sign-in lets you work using your own account’s permissions. The workspace connection gives background environment builds shared access to the selected repositories. A Replit workspace admin configures this connection and needs a GitLab account with the required permissions for the group and projects.

  1. Switch to the intended Replit workspace and open Repos. Find GitLab and select “Manage.”
  2. Under “Workspace account,” select “Connect” or “Configure.” Sign in to GitLab if prompted.
  3. Select “Configure” beside the intended group. Choose at least one project, then select “Connect group.”
  4. Confirm that the group shows “Connected.” To change its project selection later, select “Edit,” update the selection, and select “Save changes.”

If a group or project is missing, check that you signed in to the correct GitLab account and that it has the required access. If Replit says GitLab is not enabled or available for the workspace, follow the setup guidance shown before continuing.

Removing a project revokes its workspace access and may invalidate existing build tokens. Use “Edit” to change selected projects. Please disconnect the whole group only when you intend to remove its shared access entirely.

Still stuck? Try troubleshooting with Agent.

Copy this prompt and paste it into Agent. For a project issue, open the project where it happens first. Add what happened and anything you've already tried. Don't include passwords, API keys, database connection strings or payment-card details.

Copying does not open Agent or send a support request. Agent availability and usage depend on your account.
