The Challenge
Before Replit, building at Payouts.com was a relay race. “Building was a relay race—idea, spec, ticket, sprint,” Hirchson recalls. “The constraint wasn't talent. It was that only a small group could ship.”
The team consistently had more ideas than capacity to build them. Bringing even a single feature to life meant creating tickets, queuing work, and routing it across multiple teams before anything reached customers. “We had many ideas that were not brought to life because the execution time was long,” says Qasim. In the old way, a targeted feature could take months—too slow to keep up with customer requests in a fast-moving market.
Underneath it all sat a legacy payments platform that had cost millions of dollars to build and was expensive to maintain—exactly the kind of system a lean team needed to move off of.
Why Replit?

A small team, working in a single Replit project, rebuilt the company's entire payments stack with no traditional dev team. The result is a production-grade AI payments wallet spanning wallets, cards, USDC, fiat, and global accounts—the platform that replaced their multimillion-dollar legacy system.
The team uses Replit for rapid prototyping, testing, and automated workflows, shipping new apps and features day by day. An idea that takes a day or two to define can be taken fully end to end in one to three days. “With Replit, we're speeding up. We can stand up an app in a single day,” Hirchson notes.
The biggest shift is who gets to build. With Replit, every department can create its own apps—no engineers or product team required. “Even the customer success team can build their own tool,” says Hirchson. “Each department can build their own tools and doesn't need any developers to do that.” Instead of handing problems to a central team and waiting in a queue, departments come together to solve customer problems and ship the apps themselves.
