iiviigames3 days agoREPL, as a freelancer who relies on the things he makes for free to draw attention to his skill, earning money when someone appreIciates my work - I would consider this wonderful thing something worth asking the OP to an interview.
Well, I would say that, if the OP wasn't named "JakeAtReplit". That said - would you reach out to someone who had made this who didn't already work for you?
I only accept jobs that I get in this way, and while that took years to make feasible of constant work, I have made a living using only this method for years now. Does anyone else do this? And I mean intentionally, not offer by accident. You provide useful or interesting material freely to the world, and just hope that someone in the right place appreciates it.
This probably sounds pretentious...but every time it happens, it's genuine. I know the person contacting me cares, and I know I cared about the thing I made that drew their attention. It makes for an extremely fulfulling working environment right from the start, and you feel so good about it.
I also don't take permanent positions - but I don't recommend this one bit. I'm lucky to have that choice. But others should consider permanent positions if there are people who work in the way I do.
Ultimately replit, I love your website. I use it daily. I recommend it to anyone who might have need - and I want you to take what I said here to heart and find someone who could help your company based on the merit of their work. (And no, I don't want the job myself. This is not self-promotion.) I want someone else to get that email, tweet, or message that lets them know they're good enough to hire, even when they didn't ask.
If you do it, please tell me about it somehow. Was it great? Disastrous? Never going to happen?
You made a beautiful toy page, and I'd have hired you based on this. That's what I mean.
