Just a question, why do you need a websocket if this is an API? Websockets are only useful for live client-server communication, given that both are in the same domain, but this is an API which doesn't need that. It just might be a way to reduce the size of the repl. Also, fetch can be replaced with http.get or https.get (you can use a try catch to test both) which are also native node modules, so they don't take up any extra space..
