Bruh made [EPIC] RPG
the rpg is text based and a little rough but overall was just something i would work on for fun. i am still learning java and am looking for feedback or just put something random in the comments. [but if you have any feed back pls put in comments] also if you want me to add more characters or there is a bug or enemies or just any of the collectibles pls give new suggestions i want this to be an enjoyable game for everyone. and yes my pfp is astolfo, long story
Bruh I never play these RPG games. I think they are overrated as I am pretty sure they are pretty simple to make. Not tryna diss you owner of this share post but just saying
P.S. On further notice the code looks pretty complex, but still - I don't like them RPG games
@Whippingdot yeah i can see why you think they are overrated. and yeah this is VERY simple, i just thought about it and yeah they kinda are overrated(some of the RPG's since i have seen many great ones that looked really cool). but anyway hope you enjoyed at least a little. if you have any feedback or things you would like in a next version please send a comment(idk if you can do messages in repl)
No if I open the exact link of your repl it opens it up in spotlight mode. You can check out your repl’s spotlight mode by adding ‘?v=1’ to the end of your repl’s link or by pressing the title of your repl in your repl where you can change the title and add a description. When you press that area a button showing a button for spotlight mode will appear. @OskarasZincenk1
It is a good game, really good, maybe you can add some graphics and music with a good gameplay/background story, add characters, and more mobs. (if you don't know which name you want to add for the mobs and NPC, try https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/, and music you can pretty much search for free copyright music, it might take a while finding music that vibes with the gameplay, but I know you can do it. Also for the gameplay try making it classic isekai type. First, make the MC "Player", a student that gets killed by truck-kun(typically a truck with a sleepy driver, that kind of thing), he stuck in a room (typically white infinite room), he meets god/ or any being you want, he grants him/her/them a second life in a new world, and good luck (this side is optional),it can also be that he enters a dark and cold place like he is a sink, and he hears "Simulation Earth has been completed, Next Simulation [the world name you want], memory erasure starting, loading..., ErROr (this part should be color red), Proceeding for entering simulation [the world name you have chosen]", or you can just skip that process and jump straight to new world. If you need more backstory for some of the character or player you can just use https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/ again, it is quite helpful) Anyways I like the game, and I wish I can at least try or make something like this (because I am a little lazy and very busy). GOOD JOB! and I hope this is helpful ヾ(•ω•`)o
@RoyalDiadem thanks alot!!, i really like the idea, im probably going to add stuff like that if i can into the second version because it sounds very very great(idk if i can tho, hopefully) i will also definitely use the website, as i had trouble making names for the characters. thank you again. have a great day
@RoyalDiadem 0-0 I don't exactly think that would really be a good RPG setting considering and RPG stands for Role Playing Game. Honestly having only one preset character just turns the game from an RPG to a single-player adventure. And while most RPGs are set in the past (like in the Middle Ages or something), I know that there are a few that are set in the future, but none in the present. It's just... an RPG in the present would probably be kind of boring (in my opinion) and in any old RPG, just the main and central mission isn't that exciting on its own, so to spice it up there are side quests, missions, and all kinds of nice things. I can't really see the storyline set in these modern times, and honestly, I can't even picture the side quests and missions and stuff. So yeah, sorry about all the criticism, but it might be best in the distant future (and have some kinds of fancy tech we don't have) or in the Medieval Ages (where you can have all sorts of magical creatures, people, and items). Plus I can't really see the main quest in this storyline given to us. Is it, like, "Defeat a greater evil", or "Do something great with your life" (please not this one), or... what?
@OskarasZincenk1 like, I don't know, some kind of underground movement to organize a synchronized takedown of all global powers? Basically the storyline might be something kinda like this:
You are an agent for the [INSERT INTELLIGENCE SERVICE NAME HERE] and are on a top-secret mission to infiltrate an underground network of criminals. From what HQ has uncovered from previously sent spies, this isn't just a group involved in even large-scale bank robberies. This is a global movement that wants to take down all governments at once, in order to take over in the chaos. Your mission is to find their plans and bring them back to HQ in total and complete secrecy. Do not get caught, and try to remain unnoticed at all costs. The fate of the world rests upon your shoulders.
@noway15 lol you are getting the setting wrong, The white room and the Simulation scenario leads to different outcomes either a fantasy-medieval time period, it is a sword-magic world (Basically Isekai), or it might be a futuristic game type "steampunk style", where rifts (gate opening from another world filled with typically any fantasy, futuristic mobs, or even different races e.g death knight, elves, ascended vampire(yes, it is DIO), e.t.c) opens randomly and endanger mankind.
For fighting you can do a simple input like “what do you want to use [options]”
stuff like that
then minus health, etc
cool, just a little boring :)
breh diamond swords IRL suck
you can literally break a diamond with a hammer
also the game itself is very low effort, you can't really do anything. Another thing you might want to do is add more to it than just battling and buying stuff, like maybe actually adding in a storyline. Also, I would recommend using Python for text-based games as it has much more variety in what you can do with text, plus it has some functionality which allows you to make games with decent graphics (although if you want to go all out on graphics I recommend JS). For the game, I'd recommend giving it more gameplay, and also try to give it a background storyline or something to make it better. Maybe add in some colors. Anyway, this post is pretty low effort. I skimmed through the code and I can see that the code is mainly about printing stuff.
its gonna be in java tho since im still learning that in school(also about the diamond swords and weapons i didnt really put much thought into them ill try to make it more personal for the next one, also it was like a minecraft weapon reference type thing)
