How to make hidden files/folders

Profile icon
ironblockhd

Make hidden files/folders in these 4 steps:

  1. use CTRL+shift+s to open the terminal
  2. note: if you've used npm modules before on your repl this step can be skipped. Use the command mkdir node_modules
  3. create your files normally
  4. move the files into the hidden folder using mv filename node_modules

Heres an image to help. As you can see when i type "ls" it lists everything inside node_modules. If you dont see the file you moved there, then you didnt move it there and something else happened to it accidentally, meaning it might very well be gone forever. if it IS in node_modules, very simple recovery just do what i did. By the way, my repl name is "qqtest" so you imght want to change that to whatever yours was

its not enough to know the error I need to know what you wrote in the terminal too. was the file in the list when you typed "ls"? try again and see if the error comes up if it does take a picture of it all

@JameezPlays
The file node_modules is there, but not the file abakis (what I hid). The error is still there:

OHHHH you only did the last instruction.
Type "cd node_modules" first. Look at the picture, it should look like the picture (I sent). "mv test.txt ~/" only works when youre inside the node_modules folder

Try this, in the url in browser type the location of the file like /node_modules/abakis

Ls:

main.py exceptions.py node_modules

Profile icon

It says that it's not secure, I am fully aware that anyone can see it if he wants to

Profile icon
CodeLongAndPros

Yeah,

@ironblockhd
but:
A. Node-modules looks suspicious in a C++ repl
B. Just symlink to ~/
