Heeeeeeello! I am posting this because I have a question about the programming jam that is happening this month. I want to make a language too, but I have no idea how to post the language. Like, am I supposed to make a game out of my language? or like write
console.log('') = printOut,
or just write the idea down? Thank you for your time, and pls help.
Will the judges understand the code that I made a game with? And also, if this is like a new code, wont the computer get errors cause it does not understand the code?
And for peoples reading this and are doing/have made a language before, can you show me the picture of the code/help me make my code?
OK so regarding the language jam to register and all the info is here:
To make a language these websites will help and guide you:
These are the ones I used so it works and explains well! Please mark this as correct if it answered your question!
Plus you need to make a team and work together as a friend. If you don't have either you can go to the discord and they will match you up with someone.
Sorry about the delay and have a great day PRO CODER ;)
@Coder100 They show examples on how to make a language, so that already answers his/her question. He/she can just use that example of displaying the end result which is literally the whole thing of the language jam. The language jam consists of making the language, testing it, and displaying it, all of which are in the links. Why are you telling me to look in the contents when I'm making my language based on it (so obviously I read it). Plus I put the extra info to help he/she with registering which is normally very confusing and has been asked.
well, im not going to waste my time and argue with someone who clearly doesn't want to express their mistakes and clearly has not given the time to read the question clearly stating "but how do I post this language?" Have they said anything about how to make the language? No, they are just asking the medium of which they should post their language.
Next time research before making your rebuttals @JosephSanthosh
@HahaYes WHICH PART OF ME NOT WANTING TO ARGUE HAS GOT ANYTHING TO DO WITH CYCLE-FARMING. What are you even saying??? I don't want to fight and argue and that's got nothing to do with cycle farming. He criticised me first and I was defending myself and my point! Get yourselves together and stop targetting!!! @Coder100
@HackerSK @Coder100 @HahaYes @JosephSantosh Everyone calm down. Hey, Joseph, it's usually not good practice to ask others to mark your answer as correct if it helps (it's frowned upon by the community). It's still within the rules, and if you wish to do so, then you can continue. I can't guarantee you won't get backlash for it though.
@HackerSK No and Yes! I had started a language but then I had used up all my data and so I just gave up and deleted half my repls. I'M SO SORRY!I know many people who can help you with this! @Bookie0 @Lethdev2019 Could you assist @HackerSK with the following questions as you both are making languages ?
Hope this will help you :) sry once again
@HackerSK Also, there is a python tutorial in making a programming language. It is buried deep but I bookmarked it.
Hi, you have to make sure it is working using either something like ohm, yacc (iirc thats the name), or hand-writing it yourself (I'm doing this!).
So, that means, in your post, you are free to do whatever you want with your language! I would suggest fibonacci, it really shows turing completeness (which is recommended), but a game is just fine.
