Why have people requested edit access?
RolandJLevy (1052)

Some people have requested access to edit one of my repls but I don't know what this means. Can someone explain?

Does it mean they have access to the repl and can edit it freely? Why would they want to do this and why don't people just fork the repl?

I think a lot of people do it accidentally, and other people just don't understand exactly what they're doing, it happens all the time to me.

Yes, that's what that means.

I'm not sure why people ask for edit access, it just kinda happens. They are able to fork it, but maybe they haven't figured that out yet.

@SixBeeps one time I accidentally pressed it maybe people just do that

@snekattack thanks, but I already know that they want to edit my repl. It would be good to have a more detailed explanation.

@RolandJLevy what is the detailed explanation that you want about?

RolandJLevy (1052)

@snekattack here are a couple of questions:

  • Does the person with edit access have the same level of control as the person who created the repl?
  • As the creator of the repl can you remove the other person who has edit access?

It means that they get access to your repl and everybody can see it so they pretty much get rights

@MikeJMS8910 thanks. It would help if that was explained somewhere. It's not clear what requesting edit access actually means and difficult to get an explanation. I suggest making the words "edit access" a link to a page or popup explaining what it means.
