I teach an introductory coding class at a middle school. I was trained using Code.org block and text platform. It uses java script. I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to know anything. What would be a better course of action to take to introduce students to coding? The students in the classes range from having no experience to having quite a bit of experience. The classes are mixed 7th and 8th grade. I want to meet the needs of the low-learners but keep the advanced students challenged.

Perhaps make your own curriculum?

You can also try to introduce them with some premade courses.

Check out Codeacademy or CodeHS. :)

Good luck! :D
