I feel interested in building an internet-like system, and not sure what programming language is the best for this task.

it’s probably the only instance you’ll find tho I’ve never seen anyone else do it.

I would say node or express would be the best choice. They are both the same (similar), and are fast and efficient ways to export data. That's for a backend, and for a front end, I would simply use html, css, and js, as its very easy code. Be sure to mark as answered! Thanks!

You arent going to get anywhere by just asking for the best language - if you havnt noticed its just going to incite people arguing over which language is better. If you are starting out you learn js or python since you want an internet like I would suggest learning html and then you can move to django with python for "internet-like" system. I dont recommend learning C as your first language

depending on what you are wanting to make. A web-server, with a database, then Django or Nodejs, if nothing else then C would be preferred.

The only TRUE networking language is c on Linux! sys/socket.h!

By "internet-like system" you mean a web server? A search engine? A searchable database of information?

Profile icon
2HS8980

@Vandesm14
the term "internet-like system" is a web server for storing information.

Profile icon
Vandesm14

@2HS8980
If you're building a database web service, I suggest learning Nodejs or Python

Profile icon
RohilPatel

Why would you use python?

@Vandesm14

Profile icon
Vandesm14

@RohilPatel
Because python and Nodejs are both good backend server languages.

Profile icon
RohilPatel

But isn't python a very, complex language, to simply setup a server?

@Vandesm14

@RohilPatel
Python is not complex at all. That's why many schools teach python instead of JS (even though both of them are basically similar in terms of their learning curve)

Profile icon
RohilPatel

ok. ill try learning python.
