i hate the way that we cant use gitlab for our repls, it sucks because github is shit

Well yeah, you can't do it with the UI, but you can with git.

Hit ctrl+shift+s and type in your git commands! Something like:

read -p "Commit message: " msg
read -p "Remote url: " url
git add .
git commit -m "$msg"
git remote add origin "$url.git"
git push -u origin master

You can. Just use Git via the CLI and push to GitLab.
