Teams for Education: Can you modify projects once published?

Hi - I often need to add additional instructions, etc. to projects that are already published and forked by students. Right now, when I modify the project after publishing, the students cannot see these updates.

Is there any way to make modifications and have students pull those changes into their forked version? If it's unpublished and then re-published, will students lose their forked versions?
