Question About Chromebook
Hi, All I have a question I am using Acer Chromebook for coding but usually doing it on repl.it but now I have an assignment for Exe file executable program so do I do it on repl.it. Please Help!
well, i researched it and found nothing. if you can afford it (both in storage and cost) just buy this and stick it in:
Chrome books cannot run/program EXE files, unfortunately:(
If you have to, you can get an account with Google Cloud Compute and set up a windows VM instance. It gives you a virtual windows computer that you can use from your internet browser. It has pay-as-you-go pricing, and it starts from around 1p and hour. When you set it up you can install other windows programs, and it will give you experience of cloud systems that can stand you in good stead if you try to do other things. However, you may not be able to do that if you are in school, so do you have a family computer you can use for that one assignment?
You also may be able to code in a specific language like virtual basic on a website like repl.it, then see if there is a website to convert a file to exe.
You could also check out roll app.
Hope this helps!
I am a very experienced user of chromebooks, in order to compile an application as .exe you must use windows or linux with an emulator. (I recommend wine)
Currently chromebooks support linux (You must activate it, else you should search for a windows machine to compile it in Visual Studio or some app like that.
ChromeOS can't run exe files
ChromeOS can't run linux files directly (Console needed)
I recommend getting to another pc
What do you mean you have "an assignment for Exe file executable program."
If you need to turn your code into an
.exe file, I would find a tool for your language, open your shell by doing ctrl+shift+p then typing "shell" then pressing enter, and download / use said tool.
