Is there an alternative to mod probe
TommyMeeks (0)

i honestly don't know how bash works but im just trying to run

install-pkg v4l2loopback-dkms
modprobe v4l2loopback devices=1

to get a virtual camera for the replit environment and i got the first command to work but not the second

The second results in bash modprobe: command bot found which I did research on and found it to be a permission error but I can’t run it as sudo so I’m wondering if accomplishing this will be possible in the end. I need the loop back decide to use pyvirtualcam to make a virtual camera. So I’m not sure how else I might get a virtual cam without this.

Since v4l2loopback and modprobe both deal with devices at the kernel level, I doubt you'll be able to use either of them.

You could give the Nix package a try and that might work, but other than that, if using install-pkg doesn't work, I don't think using v4l2loopback is possible.
