Integrating Hardware on Chromebook
aronnebaum

I am an educator from the Dayton, Ohio area. I work with young kids and a huge problem I have run into is that many of the Elementary Schools I work with use Chromebooks and have privacy settings and restrict what students can and cannot download and install. I have recently begun using a Circuit Playground Express (https://www.adafruit.com/product/3333) which is a usb connected RaspberryPi-ish device. It comes equipped with lights, buttons, and sensors. However, I have been unable to integrate hardware side of the Circuit Playground Express through repl. Any ideas?

Hi!
Hmm... Maybe you set something up where the Chromebooks used some trusted online application to ssh into a computer (with a beginner-friendly UI) that does have access to the hardware? That's probably a bit too much trouble for what it's worth though 🤔

Maybe submit that to the replit feedback page if you haven't already?

It sounds like a useful feature, maybe they'll consider adding it :P
