Im needing some help with text boxes.
DustinNichols (0)

Hello! I'm needing some help with text boxes, i'm trying to create a small ARG for one of my friends, and throughout the span of the ARG there are going to be code words you can use on the website to go deeper into the story, i'm not sure how to make that work, if this is confusing what i'm saying is, i need some feedback on how to make the site recognize certain keywords when typed into the text box and submitted. Thanks in advance for any help!

You'll have to use javascript to get the value and then you could change it using javascript

@robowolf how do i do that? I'm not well versed in Javascript.

@DustinNichols Well, Im kinda rusty as well so try, https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming/html-css-js, or use python's flask if you know python

@robowolf flask is a server side library, it doesn’t work on the web browser (client side)

@notGilbert Actually it does https://titanic-2.robowolf.repl.co/ made completely with flask. When you run it on an IDE it pops up on your localhost:port.

@robowolf everything on the client is HTML, CSS, and JS

flask (and python) is only used on the server, handling the requests and sending back the files

@notGilbert Ohhh. I misunderstood you. Yeah you do have to know HTML to get a desirable outcome, but since the question was referring to handling events I suggested flask, because it is very useful for setting up a interactive website if you don't know js, and only know python.
