How do I get the yellow arrow in the console?

I don't know how to enable the yellow arrow (meaning the console is ready for input). Previously, after having run the repl, the arrow would become yellow immediately. Now it's all the time red/brown. Any ideas?

Thank you! I know I can't enable/disable it but it's really helpful when I can access the variables in the console. I used to be able to do that but now it's defaulting to bash. How can I bring the yellow one back? :(

You can't enable/disable it. It's part of the console. Don't worry too much about it
