Chrono not working

I'm working on a small game and I wanted to add a slowdown effect. I used the chrono library as such:

#include <chrono>
chrono::minutes slowdown (1);

But as far as I can tell through testing, it does nothing - just jumps instantly to the next line.

For reference I'm calling the chrono in my file as such:

slowdown.count();

Can someone help me figure out where I've gone wrong?

It might be in milliseconds, try using 1000 instead of 1

@MrVoo Tried that, it still moves instantly rather than waiting.
