Check for Syntax Errors

IanRiley1
IanRiley1

Hello, I've been very interested in incorporating repl.it into our classrooms at my university. However, something that I've noticed is that there doesn't appear to be any syntax error highlighting in the text editor. It's really difficult for new students to debug their code without these. Is this a feature that will combing down the pipeline in the future?

Hi, where is the mistake here?

moves = int(input("How many times have you moved home in your life? "))
age = int(input("How old are you?"))
averageTime = age:moves
print(averageTime)

Oh, I think I might have typed it wrongly so I'll edit it now.
Or you could copy and paste this: repl.it/feedback/
EDIT: I fixed the link. The problem was that I forgot to put "https://" :P

In a repl, go to settings on the lefthand side, scroll down, and set code intelligence to enabled. Hopefully this is what you're looking for. I'm not sure how detailed it is though.

@OmniShift
Thanks. It is, but it doesn't seem to catch errors in Java. I tested it in Python and it seems to work fine, but not in Java. For example, missing semicolons and type declarations aren't caught.
