Can we Convert all REPL's to Dark Theme at once and not individually?
AaronPhilip

I Just wanted to know if we can convert all the REPL's to the Dark Theme. I know that we can go to each REPL and convert it to Dark Theme but is there a way in which you can directly do it?

Yes, if you just do it on one repl, it will happen to all repls. You may have to reload to see the change, however.

AaronPhilip

@Coder100 Thank You:)

Coder100

np :) mark as correct answer? @AaronPhilip

PattanAhmed

@AaronPhilip Hi,
If you made one repl in Dark Mode, the rest of Repls and new created Repls are also be created in the Dark Mode
Just for your side note, The Full theme of Repl.it will not change to Dark, I and you are just talking about Repls

Hope this helps

@PattanAhmed your right

HahaYes

@PattanAhmed please stop saying "please mark my answer"

PattanAhmed
HahaYes

@PattanAhmed blatant cycle farming

PattanAhmed

@HahaYes Ok!
Bt IDC LoL!
Thanks

HahaYes

@PattanAhmed cycle farming and squeezing is against the rules.

PattanAhmed

@HahaYes Oh Ok!
I will be more careful then!
Thanks for your info.

HahaYes

HahaYes

@PattanAhmed CYCLE FARMING IS AGAINST RULES

PattanAhmed

@HahaYes But I didn't receive any e-mail from them!

HahaYes

@PattanAhmed not yet...

PattanAhmed

@HahaYes ok!
Anyways, Bye!
Night-time here!

Vandesm14

@PattanAhmed @HahaYes Having a "please mark my comment as the answer" at the end of a comment is fine. I do that almost 100% of the time. People used to do that a while back because the answering feature was very new and nobody as using it as they should. It should be common nature now, but sometimes people need that reminder!

PattanAhmed

@Vandesm14 But at least it can be used as the ending of the comment...

Thanks!

thats cycle begging tho, it pressures people to mark your answer as correct even if its wrong and whenever people keep spamming it, it may be ok but for weak minded people they will feel pressured to mark it especially when its written in bold.

PattanAhmed

@k9chelsea2 So, You mean not to write it in Bold letters...
Very good advice...
Thanks A lot

k9chelsea2

no just don't write the whole 'please mark this as correct answer if it helped' thing in bold as it can pressure people to mark it as answer when maybe its not what they intended (well don't write it at all lmao but I can't stop you)

PattanAhmed

@k9chelsea2 So I will write in normal text...
Without bold.
Thanks!

Vandesm14

@k9chelsea2 It's okay if you do it. Read my above comment. If you're so agitated by it, you could always do "Please mark my comment as the answer if I resolved your issue". No, none of these "pressure" people into marking it as the answer and no, it's not begging for cycles. It's how the system works, so it's allowed

k9chelsea2

well any comment could help tho it could help in many ways, repl.it is about learning not about gaining cycles

k9chelsea2

asking for someone to mark your post as correct answer is just like a waiter asking for a tip

Vandesm14

@k9chelsea2 It's like a waiter asking for a tip when the tip is highly recommended. It's not like marking a comment as the answer is not allowed, because it is. It's not begging, it's just a friendly reminder to use the mark-as-answer system.

k9chelsea2

hmms, well it should be rephrased "please mark this as correct answer if this helped" is basically demanding the person who posts the post to mark it as the correct answer if it helped in anyway, i even saw someone do a whole tutorial with screenshots and stuff at the end of their original comment on how to mark a correct answer

HahaYes

@Vandesm14 Well I see @k9chealsea2 's and your point. Obviously I'm not gonna argue with a mod because they have more powers than me, but think of it this way. "Please mark this as correct" is kinda a forced response, which pretty much means to check their answer even if they didn't help. I find that "please mark my answer" analogy to the waiter/waitress isn't the same. If you are going to do it for the cycles, then your quality of the post will obviously go down. You are trying to help someone else, not get cycles out of it. (Also bold fond is really eye catching btw)

PattanAhmed

@HahaYes So, reading all the comments...
I thought that @k9chelsea2's example doesn't fix in this regard.
And due to your suggestion, I got to know that I have to write it in a normal text rather than bold.
But I really appreciate @Vandesm14 for his excellent explanation.
Thanks all

Vandesm14

@k9chelsea2 @HahaYes
All it is is a reminder to mark it as the answer. Nothing more. It's not peer pressure. It's not cycle farming. It's just a reminder to use the system correctly. Doing so puts a tag on the post so people know it's answered. That's it. It's not that difficult to see this. Nobody is "farming" cycles since you have to mark the answer as the answer anyway, so it's completely intended to be this way.

You are trying to help someone else, not get cycles out of it
Yes, but people still need a way to decipher if a question has been answered. That way, when scrolling through the ask board, they don't have to check every post to see if it's been answered. They can just see that it's answered if everyone uses the system correctly.

k9chelsea2

what happens if you already know how to use the answer system? then the "please amrk this as correct answer thingy" is useless in that regard. Also it does cause pressure when you keep responding "please mark this as correct answer" if you post it once the pressure factor is minimun but if you keep posting it then it increases. Also lets say 2 people write the same thing but one writes please mark this as correct answer if it helped (and they post it after the other person posted it) and the person that posted the question marks the person that said "please mark it as correct answer" is that fair on the other person when in normal circumstances the first person to post the answer to a question would get their response marked as correct answer?

also i have seen cases where that has been used in cycle farming

also please note i am not here to argue I just think that posting "please mark this as correct answer" at the end of a post is pressuring and demanding

PattanAhmed

@Vandesm14 What do say on this:-

Thanks!

HahaYes

@Vandesm14 well your opinion overrules our opinion as you are a mod, but I see your point. I'd rather follow Coder100's way( @Coder100 ) where you first answer the question,if they think it is correct, then you would put "Hope this helps" afterward in another comment.

PattanAhmed

@HahaYes That's also good opinion!

Coder100

yeah, like a waiter not asking for a tip @HahaYes

k9chelsea2

if you make a new account by default its light theme but I am pretty sure if you add dark mode to a repl it will keep it dark mode for the editor

AaronPhilip

@k9chelsea2
Thanks a lot! got it :)

k9chelsea2

ok cool glad to help (if i did help)

PattanAhmed

@k9chelsea2 Nope, It will just make Repls in Dark...
Not the actual interface of Repl.it.
Thanks!

k9chelsea2

I didn't say that tho…

SamiOsman

@k9chelsea2 @PattanAhmed Ik I'm late but I think what they meant is that by default it is light but if you add the dark mode for the whole replit.com then the editor is dark mode. P.S. You need explorer to make the whole thing dark mode. (I think)
