Can i have your website opinion please?
meneerkoekepeer (10)

I'm pretty new to coding and i want some people to check my site out for opinions. Don't read the text if you don't want to because it's dutch and not english (some is english). I used the name 'www' so the url would be 'https://www.meneerkoekepeer.repl.co' and it would look like it has some kind of domain lol. I hope you guys like it!

That's smart to use www. If you name the repl same as your username, it will be username.repl.co

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@Chiroyce haha yes!!! someone found it!!! :D

Chiroyce (4)

@meneerkoekepeer well since I use Firefox, i didnt get rickrolled, but i was taken to that page with the video paused due to autoplay blocking 😄

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@Chiroyce still im happy that someone found it :D

Chiroyce (4)

@meneerkoekepeer lol your site is nice, better than what i could make for sure :D

Pretty nice! Some suggestions:

  • Instead of images use icons, from [Font Awesome] for example.

  • When we click on the learn more, it abruptly brings us to the next section. Perhaps consider adding scroll-behavior: smooth; in the body selector in the CSS?

  • You should also try to make the site responsive; meaning it can be viewed and used properly on any kind of device (computer, tablet, phone, etc.)

But nice job! :)

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@Bookie0 Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. My scroll-behavior was smooth but today I deleted by accident. Also my site is responsive but it doesn't work in the way you tried it, I did it with javascript. So if you have time you may check out the website on a real mobile device but not with 'inspect' ;). Last I was thinking about changing the icons already so thanks for saying that too! I'm really happy you liked it! If you want further info of how I made the site responsive, I will drop another comment about that.

Bookie0 (6560)

@meneerkoekepeer ohh ok lol yea works well on a real phone.

What you should do to make it really responsive (in case the user is on desktop but has a tiny window) is in the CSS, add @media only screen and (min-width: 600px) {} and replace 600px with the value of your choice. Then, you can add all the style rules that you want to apply inside those curly braquets, instead of making different .html files. Read more here. :)

But yeah I like the background, it's cool. And yeah I saw how you made it responsive; with JS you checked the the navigator of the user and took them to a different page accordingly. But the problem with that is that JS sometimes makes your site load slower, or if they have a device or just have a screen width (like I said above) not covered by those navigators, they won't be able to see the site properly.

Anyways, nice job! :)

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@Bookie0 I tried doing that but it was soooo hard

Bookie0 (6560)

Yeah, it's complicated to make websites responsive and look good at the same time lol! :) @meneerkoekepeer

BIue (75)

this is pretty cool, the layout, the colors, and your coding too!

BIue (75)

@BIue but im sorry, i cannot read dutch

ch1ck3n (2866)

@ch1ck3n this website awfully reminds me of his site :P

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@ch1ck3n omg yes its inspired lol!!!

ch1ck3n (2866)

@meneerkoekepeer you did a very good job remaking it!

ch1ck3n (2866)

@meneerkoekepeer you might want to add CSS to the mobile page tho

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@ch1ck3n ow you mean the background....

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@ch1ck3n okay it should be fixed now, thanks for saying!

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@ch1ck3n haha thx I drew it in ms paint when i was 10 lol

Badhu (0)

@Chiroyce i agree .Do you scratch i have heard your name before

Coder100 (19278)

anyways, the website is very good, but the background takes some time to load, its just a few milliseconds, but it is present. I recommend you add a color fallback like this:

finally, the font is a bit plain, maybe consider getting one from https://fonts.google.com?

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@Coder100 omg color fallback is a genius idea!

Coder100 (19278)

@meneerkoekepeer yay np
mark as correct answer?

meneerkoekepeer (10)

@Coder100 not yet because i want more opinions :D, but thx

Coder100 (19278)

by the way
you can name your repl your username and it would be <username>.repl.co

Coder100 (19278)

what do you mean how
try it and see
name your repl meneerkoekepeer @meneerkoekepeer

Sorry I don't have a website opinion. I'm very bad at HTML.
