Can I have something run at all times

Hey, repl.it takes a long time to start up and I am currently using repl.it to run a website. While I know I should not use repl.it as a production server is it possible to keep running at all times with a hacker plan?

No. The haker plan only gives you extra power and space, not extra time. I’m pretty sure mat1 has a repl that you can use for that.. It’s called something ping, idk.

@Highwayman yeah I think it’s this one https://ping.matdoes.dev/

@Highwayman Yeah but you don't learn anything just by inputting a url into a box.

@UniqueOstrich18 I mean there’s nothing to learn, you just set up some servers that just continually yell at each other for forever. It’s much easier to just use something like that url instead of making a new separate pinger for every server you make.

@Highwayman You don't need to make a new pinger. You only have to modify one to include the new repl that you want to keep running.

@UniqueOstrich18 well then I have no problem with that then. :)

Hm. Did you Try MrEconomical's suggestion with the Uptime Robot? That things a little more...official...? @enriquegalaxye1

you can do it even simpler than all these answers are suggesting. simply go to Uptime Robot and create a free account that lets you create monitors. put the link for your website in that monitor and set it to HTTP or HTTPS, and have it ping your website constantly. this way it will never go to sleep. I do this for all my projects and it works great!

@MrEconomical all? I thought there was a limit to how many servers you could ping?

@Highwayman its 50 monitors and if you run out create a new account

@MrEconomical ahh I see lol.

Thanks for all these ideas. I did end up using @Highwayman's idea for the https://ping.matdoes.dev/ as I did not need to create either an account or another website.

You don't even need the hacker plan. All you have to do is create two python repls running a website, and set them to download the contents of each other every 6 minutes (doesn't have to be this amount of time), and also set them to download the repl that you want to keep running. The repl that you want to keep running has to host a website, but you can use it for other things as well. Note that this method is not completely fail-proof. The repls might stop running after a few days.

Examples:

#2: https://repl.it/@UniqueOstrich18/Anti-Sleep-Bot-2

For reference the website is empires.shoryamalani.com It is a game that I am creating. If you want to try just create a game and I will manually fill it up with other people.

@ShoryaMalani If you would like to see the code I could do a repl.it multiplayer.

@ShoryaMalani You don't need multiplayer to see people's code.
