Weekly Challenge #15
Hey there replers! 2 weeks ago, we started the 4th batch of repl.it weekly challenges you all are doing pretty good, there was only 1 submission this week that received a score of 0
! (i.e. that got disqualified even though the challenge was pretty easy anyways.)
So below are the results for the last weekly challenge aka Weekly Challenge #14.
WEEKLY 14 Results
Here are the results for the weekly challenge #14.
RANK 1 : @minx28
RANK 2 : @lilykhan
RANK 3 : @JDOG787 and @Coder100
In case you did not make into the top 3, you can check out your score at the weekly results website - https://weekly.thedrone7.repl.co
But before that, here's this week's weekly challenge for you all!
EULER's Number!
For those of you who don't know, Euler's number is a heavily used constant (usually denoted by e
) that is heavily used in mathematics. It's approximate value is 2.71828
but it is an irrational number.
For this week's challenge, you have to write a program/website/GUI to show how it's value is obtained or show how it's value can be applied to solve problems.
NOTE : It should be able to explain the process and not just show the process for both the derivation and the application.
You can choose to show either derivation or application. You can also choose to explain both of those.
The challenge will be over exactly a week after this post was created (on the same time).
SUBMISSION
For submitting your repls, post them on the repl talk share board and ensure that they contain #WEEKLY
in their name.
NOTE : You cannot have multiple weekly challenge submissions but if you want to share multiple ways of achieving the goal, you can make regular posts that don't contain
#WEEKLY
in their name, evenWEEKLY
is fine.
And that's it for today, code away and have fun replers!
Huh we can use imports, cant we? (For the last challenge)
@JeswinSunsi of course, if there are any restrictions, they'll be mentioned in the post.
How will you be ranked?
@JosephSanthosh there's 4 points for meeting the requirements, then 6 points for adding something to it. You can add aesthetics or content and stuff like that. You'll be scored accordingly.
The rankings are from the total score of the weekly challenges conducted that month.
@TheDrone7 Oh thanks!
@TheDrone7 Is it ok if I asked you for help on one of my projects?
@JosephSanthosh depends on how much help and what exactly you need help with.
i added #Weekly in the post and not the title (╥﹏╥)
@DaLiteralPanda It does say it should be in the title but if you send the link I could make an exception.
Boy, @minx28's gonna love this challenge
@Lord_Poseidon yup. Even more interesting because I know very little about e. The conversion calculator was a fun project but not very difficult.
How was the calc. not difficult. @minx28
@JosephSanthosh converting between units is very simple (if you don't do dodgy ones like temperature). Just multiply/divide the input values
nice
im so doomed for this weeks challenge
@k9chelsea2 it seems to have been made for minx 🤔
ikr, he is literally the big maths genius here
@k9chelsea2 they're probably just going to use the exact same css again and get the style points too
ikr, all their gonna do is add some text a body tag and boom lol
ok so basically e
is the limit as (1+1/x)^x
approaches infinity @CodingCactus
hopefully, you guys are doomed no more :D @CodingCactus
@Coder100 I might just draw that graph in python with turtle or smth
@CodingCactus ofc imma reuse the CSS lmao. But here's the thing - if it's on my website minx.codes, it's actually easier for me to reuse the CSS than not to, as the base stylesheet is in the template page and I haven't yet needed to make a way to override it
@minx28 yeah, everyone else makes new websites but you just make a new page on the same on lol
@CodingCactus H said it's fine so why should I put in the extra time to make a new website each time? tbh I doubt he's giving me points for style anymore
@Coder100 Be glad someone knows LaTeX
lmao i know latex too @firefish
but why does one need such things @firefish
text is betterthe sum of the group of the sum of two and three and the product of four and six
translation(+ (+ 2 3) (* 4 6))
translation(2 + 3) + (4 * 6)
intepreted5 + 24 = 29
@firefish
@Coder100 a fish and a cookie is good too
@Coder100 is that lisp
ree where's my score mad
@Coder100 lol
@Coder100 I'll help you just this once... @TheDrone7 You didn't seem to score his, was it disqualified or did you not see it?
@oignons It doesn't show up in the list of submissions. He didn't submit.
@TheDrone7 Oh.
@TheDrone7 Where do you submit it?
@TheDrone7 Is posting it counted as submitting?
@JosephSanthosh yep, just posting it with
#WEEKLY
in the title counts as submitting.@TheDrone7 ok thx :)
what i did @TheDrone7
impossible @TheDrone7
@Coder100 uh, can I get the link then? It still doesn't show up.
hm ok @TheDrone7
https://repl.it/talk/share/WEEKLY-14/49817 @TheDrone7
unfair mad @TheDrone7
@Coder100 you put a space between # and WEEKLY that's why it didn't show up lol
oh xD @TheDrone7
so does it qualify or no it was posted well within the due dates @TheDrone7
@Coder100 of course it qualifies since it was my fault.
yey @TheDrone7
@TheDrone7 @Coder100
im just salty i didnt make it in top 3 this week lol, so yeah....also, before tho, i have submit repls, but i dont get why they were never scored...do you comment on challenges that get disqualified?
lol what @RohilPatel
@RohilPatel most of the time, you used to misinterpret the challenge and not satisfy the requirements as specified in the post.
For now, you only didn't make it in the top 3 by the score of 1, and that's only because the ones that did make it, go overboard.
yeah, i am happy with what i have, but ok, that is good to know that you are seeing them. @TheDrone7
what is 'ree' [email protected]
@Coder100
CONGRATS ON 5K CYCLES!!!
thanks!!!! @JosephSanthosh
Wait really? Cool!!! @JosephSanthosh
