The Repl.it Chrome Extension 🌐
jajoosam (926)

Hey everyone,

One of the coolest things about repl.it is how fast and simple it is to experiment with others' code. I've been working on a chrome extension which allows you to run code all over the web on repl.it, with just one click.

The chrome extension adds prompts to NPM Packages and Github Gists - letting you try out examples as soon as you see them.

But, that's not all! The chrome extension lets you run literally everything on repl.it!

Just select some code, enter a language and boom 🤯

Get it now on the Chrome Webstore

I'm looking forward to hearing ideas + feedback from y'all :)

So cool, I like the logo but I think it should be darker and bigger.

21natzil (1199)

Looks awesome, maybe porting to Firefox next?

jajoosam (926)

@21natzil will do if there's some demand :)

mkhoi (299)

@jajoosam I use Firefox, it would be pretty cool to have this on there

mat1 (4429)

@jajoosam Firefox uses the same WebExtension api as chrome does, so it shouldn't be hard.

jajoosam (926)

@mat1 @mkhoi @21nazil Faced a few issues when I tried - but if any of you feel like it, all of the code is open source to port 😄

Make a feature, so that it automatically makes the repl in your account instead of on yours. You can input your username and password at the start

CyanCoding (2180)

Wow, this is incredible! This is undeniably helpful, and I hope every Repl.it user knows about this killer feature. Amazing work!

sojs (341)

That's really cool

webmunchster (24)

Awesome idea! I am also thinking on making an android version as well.

HappyFakeboulde (241)

doesn't work for me
(i highlight some code on a random website, right-click, "try on repl.it", nothing happens)

jajoosam (926)

@HappyFakeboulde Can you record a video or something for me please?

HappyFakeboulde (241)

jajoosam (926)

@HappyFakeboulde Sorry, no idea what's causing this 😕

Does it work when you copy code from other places? Or doesn't work anywhere at all?

katyadee (1289)

This is really cool :)

PYer (4009)

Amazing! It is so cool how you can highlight code, right click it, and "run it on repl.it"

Lord_Poseidon (170)

great work! I'll add it as soon as I get to my PC.
