Introducing @mention suggestions (and myself)
moudy (114)

Hey all! I recently joined the Repl.it team and am focusing on repl-talk. I just added suggestions for at-mentions. To try it start typing "@" on a new post or comment. You can use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to navigate and hit ENTER or TAB to select.

Try it out and let me know if you have any feedback. Also, let me know what other features you would like to see in repl-talk. Thanks!

On mobile the arrows don't act like, as in they don't trigger the event, on a desktop enviroment arrow keys.

Hi !
Nothing on firefox 65 :(

PaoloAmoroso (190)

That's a great feature but it doesn't seem to work for me. For example, I type all the characters of the @moudy string one after another but nothing happens, no suggestions menu appears. I'm using a Chromebox with the latest Chrome OS Stable, 72.0.3626.122.

As for new Repl Talk features it would be useful to have:

  • more categories (excluding specific or reserved ones like Announcements, Challenge, and Share the selection is pretty limited and we need something more like Discussion)
  • language tags when creating new threads

When I press @ by itself, it very quickly shows me the users who have already posted in this conversation.

Once I start typing a character, I see a larger list of users.

I'm on a Mac with Chrome 72.0.3626.121

If there are new features you'd like to see or comment on, there are some already listed in our feedback forums:

Require language selection when posting to talk/ask

Looking for Help forums

Answered/Solved tags

Filter by user/self

Filter by language

If there's something not already listed, go ahead and add it.

@themaka Still no joy when pressing @ by itself.

I pulled out my Acer ChromeBook and updated to Chrome Version 72.0.3626.122 (Official Build) (64-bit) but the @ works for me.

PaoloAmoroso (190)

@themaka Right now I'm posting from an incognito window and it doesn't work either.

@PaoloAmoroso just made some updates that may have fixed your issue. can you try one more time?

Doesn't work on mobile lol

I ran into that this morning -- pretty useful for me as Repl.it's support guy. :)
