Hi all! I'm Luna, I'm a teen from Maine and just like to code, I tend to make myself fluent in as many languages as possible. I heard about this in a coding discord server, and now it's one of my favorite platforms. I started coding after some HTML course in 6th grade, and thats about it, you can ask me anything you want in the replies :)

No offense, but I don't see why the Collatz Conjecture program is featured (epicman's post). It's really easy to make, and if you actually check my repls you will see i have made it as well. I'm just saying, it's kinda too simple and easy to make to be a featured repl. Again, no offense to the creator.

A few thoughts: > Similar to Rust, Swift was made to have high usability and performance (similar to Rust) You mention "similar to Rust" twice here lol. > Similar to C/C++, you declare variables using the var keyword C nor C++ use var for declaring variables, but languages like JavaScript and Dart do. > Although the ! is not required, if you don't use it, the compiler will throw an error at you. Yes, this is because readLine returns an optional String type. If the user didn't enter anything o

Hey, I would recommend using a switch-case statement to shorten up this code by a lot. What a switch-case statement does is take an argument, in this case the users' input, and check if it equals a certain value. This removes the need to write an if statement for every number. You can do this by writing this: switch userNumber { case 1: print("This is not okay") case 2: print("There once was a boy") default: break } This statement takes userNumber as the argument, then uses case to check if it e

@AaronPhilip Hi, It's easy... You just have to convert it into Int data type Here is your code with explanation:- // Taking input of first number and converting it into a Int Data Type print("Enter first number: ") var number = readLine()! var converting = Int(number) ?? 0 // Taking input of second number and converting it into a Int Data Type print("Enter second number: ") var number1 = readLine()! var converting1 = Int(number1) ?? 0 // Adding the both inputs var result = converting + conver
Coder1001 year ago
Hello, to do this, you will have to use the Int class: print("Enter a number") var a = readLine()! var aint = Int(a) ?? 0 print("Enter another number") var b = readLine()! var bint = Int(b) ?? 0 var ans = aint + bint print(ans) Note the ??. This is because if the user input was a, you wouldn't be able to convert it to a number and the variable would become null iirc.
GoodCoderBadBoy1 year ago
I've never used swift before, but looking things up, you may need to convert the readline() output into an int. I may be totally and utterly wrong though. print("Enter a number") var a=Int(readLine())! print("Enter another number") var b=Int(readLine())! var ans=a+b print(ans) `

String concatenation is just combining strings. You do it by using the + operator on two strings. For example, "Hello, " + "Sarah" results in the string "Hello, Sarah".
