A clear path forward
What is the best way to store API keys securely in Replit?
Use Replit Secrets for API keys instead of putting them in code. An API key lets your app access a service. Secrets encrypt these credentials and make them available to your app as environment variables, named values your code can read. Use Configurations for non-sensitive settings, such as a log setting.
Static deployments cannot use Secrets. Never send a private key to browser-side code, where visitors can inspect it.
- Open Tools.
- Choose Secrets under Setup to manage project credentials.
For a published app, review its production secrets so it has the values it needs.
Read Replit Secrets documentation for more detail.

Copy this prompt and paste it into Agent. For a project issue, open the project where it happens first. Add what happened and anything you've already tried. Don't include passwords, API keys, database connection strings or payment-card details.
Copying does not open Agent or send a support request. Agent availability and usage depend on your account.
