A clear path forward
Do standalone chats become part of a published app?
No. A standalone chat is separate from a published app. It is a private conversation where you can ask questions, explore ideas and describe work you want done.
A project is the workspace where you build an app. Chats and projects are linked, but they are not the same thing: a chat cannot be published, while an app in a project can.
If you ask Replit to update an existing project, the work runs in that project and your chat stays a chat. Asking for an edit does not publish the app. You can also ask to turn a chat into a new project; its context carries over when you make that request.
Read Chats vs. Projects for the full comparison. Review project changes before choosing to publish.

Copy this prompt and paste it into Agent. For a project issue, open the project where it happens first. Add what happened and anything you've already tried. Don't include passwords, API keys, database connection strings or payment-card details.
Copying does not open Agent or send a support request. Agent availability and usage depend on your account.
