One of the participants is using an old game for this jam, and adding some multiplayer components to it. They claimed you were okay with it, but this is rather unfair, as they've basically used a project they have been working on prior to the jam as a huge head start.
I'm wondering what your rules are with this, since the whole point of game jams is to make a game from scratch, not build on an existing project you've been working on for weeks.

@bramley are we allowed to stretch multiplayer to meaning that each person plays to contribute to a global goal (say for our game, we track the pumpkins a person clicks so a global/multiplayer mission would be total global pumpkins). I’m asking so that we have something to submit as a fallback, because we are trying to make a splitscreen but if that doesn’t work I want us to still have a submission.
